His famous six pack is clad in a green body suit, while his face is covered with a matching green mask which only reveals a pair of eerily piercing green eyes.
Ryan Reynolds certainly looks every inch the buffed-up superhero on the cover of this week's issue of Entertainment Weekly, which shows him in the guise of comic book legend Green Lantern.
The Canadian actor stars with Gossip Girl star Blake Lively as his love interest in the film, which is out in cinemas next summer.

The movie is based on a popular DC comic which tells the story of Hal Jordan, a pilot who receives a power ring from a dying alien.

He then becomes the Green Lantern and is inducted into an interstellar police force.
The ring gives the Lantern all sorts of special powers, including the ability to fly, read minds, and create objects out of ‘green energy.’
It took Reynolds hours of training to film the elaborate flight scenes as well as maintain a special diet to get in shape for the role.
‘It’s all part of the job, so I guess I can’t complain,’ he tells Entertainment Weekly.
‘You spend one day a week eating what you want and the other six days eating drywall and wood chips,' he adds dryly.
The 33-year-old actor has also found himself becoming one half of some sort of comic book partnership – with his wife Scarlett Johansson recently playing the Black Widow in the Iron Man franchise.
‘We have a lot of comic books lying around the house – more than your average young married couple,’ he says.
