Of all the upcoming Marvel Studios films, the one we have the clearest vision of so far is "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," and it hasn't even started shooting yet. That's because based on the title alone, we know the "Cap" sequel will have at least something in common with the "Winter Soldier" comic books penned by Ed Brubaker, in which Bucky Barnes resurfaces as a deadly Soviet spy.
Chris Evans shares our enthusiasm for "Winter Soldier," having already read the comics and a draft of the film's screenplay. But his big reason why he's excited for his next go-around as the star-spangled super-soldier? The recruitment of a new ally, Anthony Mackie as Sam "The Falcon" Wilson.
"He's so great," Evans told MTV News at the Toronto International Film Festival. "I've known Mackie for a few years now. I'm really happy we got him. We got lucky."
Evans is also excited to work with Sebastian Stan again, especially given Bucky's new role in things. In fact, the "Avengers" star said that he's had a strong feeling about the upcoming "Winter Soldier" story line for quite some time now.
"There were always hints at that," he said. "The best thing about [Marvel Studios president] Kevin Feige is he's a fan. He's not just a businessman, he's a rabid comic book fan. Even during the first 'Captain America,' well before 'The Avengers,' there were whispers of ['Winter Soldier'] being the sequel. So I'm excited to tackle that."
